This afternoon a social media marketing agency offered to send me an AT&T HTC One X if I would check out a “multi-platform story experience about the power of technology and its ability to improve our lives”. I already reviewed the One X, but I was intrigued by this mysterious campaign and figured I [...]]]>

Twitter for Android updated to correct issues with sync settings, avatars and various other bug fixes
Twitter for Android is getting some bug-squashing love right now. If you fire up the Google Play Store, you should find a new update waiting for you. The latest version corrects some issues with sync settings on various devices, as well as addressing some concerns for folks who may still be running an Android 2.0 / 2.1 Eclair device:
- Fixes missing avatars on devices running Eclair (Android 2.0/2.1)
- Accurately displays sync settings based on system sync setting
- Fixes Top Tweets appearing out of order in search and discover
- Fixes various other bugs and crashers
If you've been experiencing issues with the current build, then go ahead and get yourself updated. Those "various other bugs and crashers" could just be the fixes you've been waiting for. Down below is where you'll find the store link and QR code, as always.

How to cut down a SIM card for the HTC One X (and any other phone)
This one's important for those of you looking to switch to the HTC One X (as well as a number of upcoming phones). You're going to need a micro-SIM, which as the name suggests is smaller than a larger (and more prevalent today) mini-SIM card. If you're rocking a GSM phone right this second, there's a good change you're using a mini-SIM. If you've got an iPhone 4/4S on AT&T, you've already got a micro-SIM.
So, a couple of ways to go about getting a micro-SIM. One is to just ask. Head to AT&T or T-Mobile or whomever your carrier happens to be, and tell 'em you need a micro-SIM. (If they don't know what one is, it might be time to consider switching carriers. :p )
The other way is to cut your own. Sounds scary. Sounds dangerous.
It is neither.

Instagram updated, now works on the HTC One X, among other fixes
Android's Instagram app just got an update. Included in the fixes -- among blanket better support for Tegra 3 devices -- is specific support the the HTC One X. So there's that. Here's the full changelog in Version 1.0.4:
- Bug fixes for tablet users
- Location for photo geotag is updated more often
- Fixed Instagram photos not appearing in gallery
- Better support for Nvidia Tegra 3 handsets/tablets
- Increased device support for Instagram built-in camera and filters, including the HTC One X
So, there's that. Go tell your iOS friends.
Thanks, @madeincanon!

Late-night poll: Do you let other people use your phone?
AppId is over the quota
Our Android phones are pretty personal things, full of personal information. Some of us can be very protective, and don't much care for other folks getting too comfortable with them. Besides the risk of breakage, there's also a chance someone will see something you'd rather they didn't. For others, it's not a problem, family and friends can feel free to pick up your phone off the table and fire it up. And of course, many fall squarely in the middle and are OK with a select few folks touching our Androids.
I'm OK with someone picking up my tablet (just don't lose my page in the Nook app please), but my phone? Between us I don't even like it when my lovely wife uses it for more than a few minutes. I can't explain it, it's just my precious. What about you folks? Sound off in the poll.
