T-Mobile could be the only US carrier with quad-core Samsung Galaxy S III

Today Samsung announced the Galaxy S III which features their own Exynos 4 Quad processor. According to some leaked benchmark scores, it should offer the fastest graphics performance, topping NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4.

However, most US consumers will likely not see this quad-core beast inside their carrier version of the Galaxy S III. Samsung stated in their press release that “specifications may differ on the LTE version” and we are expecting that means they will feature a different processor.

We expect that AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon will all offer the LTE version of the device, while T-Mobile will go with a HSPA+ version. That means that only T-Mobile is likely to get the quad-core version that will be similar to the international version.

The rest of the Galaxy S III models with LTE will likely feature the dual-core Snapdragon S4, if previous rumors turn out to be true. This chip might not have as fast of a GPU as the Exynos 4 Quad, but it should still be very competitive in normal usage and battery life.

One smaller possibility is that Samsung might surprise US customers and go with their newer Exynos 5 Dual processor, the first chip to use ARM’s Cortex-A15 CPU core and Mali-T604 GPU. This chip was said to go into mass production in Q2, and it should be ready for the summer release of the Galaxy S III in the US.

Based on what we saw with the HTC One X, it really shouldn’t matter for now. Their flagship device had different processors for different regions, but we found that you couldn’t tell a difference in normal usage. However, that could change in the future as more developers take advantage of quad-core processors and upgrade their apps to be multi-threaded.

Either way, the Galaxy S III on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon will likely be “dual-core” and not “quad-core.”

Why my S4 dual-core is as good as your quad-core

My dual-core S4 is as good as your hearts.  Not really, it is.  Qualcomm has recently (OK, maybe not that recently) announced the Snapdragon S4 with snake processor.  More recently, Samsung has announced the Exynos 4 Quad (confirmed in power the "Next Galaxy") and ' ve already given that the NVIDIA Tegra 3 can do.  Why, then, is as good as the quad-cores S4?  Simply, you have all the performance of the quad-core (and then some), most incredible battery life.  We ' ve given the video evidence of the performance.  With the S4 Qualcomm introduced a new architecture and it ' s cutting edge.  He ' s based on the same statement defined as new processors ARM A15, which gives a significant top advantage ' s competitors. It will make the tasks more quickly and more efficiently than the rest of the material of the present generation.

Based on a 28nm (nanometer - a unit of measure) of the production process, the CPU of snake is powerful and effective power.  The "pipe" (the electronic path through the data) has been broadened and extended, which enables it to chew several instructions at a given time.  How much more?  Up to 50% more that the old nuclei of Scorpion we find in phones like the HTC EVO 3D and others last year. Qualcomm claims until a 30% improvement on the core of the A9 on used in generating current Exynos, OMAPs and Tegras of the world.  Keep in mind that these are base numbers, that is why a dual-core can follow with a quad-core.  When every heart can perform 30-50% better, this means that you don ' t even need to do the same amount of work.

OK, so the performance is impressive, but that ' s not all. Battery life is also significantly improved. All the improvements of energy saving, have you heard of new quad-core processors are there and many more due to the small production process and you ' re runs also two cores instead of four. I ' ll leave it to Phil ' s AT & T X a review to show you just how much better it is, but it must be important.  And it is with LTE, which is part of the S4, giving us very concrete benefits of the life of the battery on each previous permitted LTE phone we ' ve seen.

Therefore performance is as well throughout and battery life should be better.  The moral of the story?  The number of nuclei isn ' t history.  How the apparatus works in your hand is. Late-night survey: Dual-core or quad-core?

With all speeches of quad-core vs. dual-coreand see the performance of the two in the same phone, we want to know.  You want a chip dual-core or quad-core in your next device?  Last year at this time we were starting to see emerging dual-core phones manufacturers.  They have all promised the best performance in a mobile device you ' ve never seen.  And they were right.  The Tegra 2, and later the OMAP 4 and Exynos were all strong performers.  Then came the quad-core.  The same promises have been made.  And yet again, they proved to be true.  Tegra 3 (otherwise known as Kal - El) put dual-core chips in recent years to shame.

We now have Qualcomm shooting with a dual-core chip, the S4.  They make the same promise.  Best performance, improve the battery life.  As we have seen in Phil ' s review (gotta love the header!) a x, they are usually right.  However, some people still have a spot of soft for more than carrots, and performance is the same.  While tell you, dear reader?
