White Motorola Motoluxe launches at Tesco in the UK

Motoluxe in white

Motorola Mobility sends word that from today, the white version of its "style-focused" Motoluxe handset will be heading to UK supermarket chain Tesco, both online and in bric-and-mortar stores. The Motoluxe, which combines a 4-inch screen, an 800MHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, an 8MP camera and a PhilBlur'd Android 2.3 Gingerbread, launched on UK networks in black last month. As far as we're aware, Tesco is the only carrier currently offering the white Motoluxe at subsidized prices.

Moto says that Tesco Mobile, which runs on O2's network, will offer the 'luxe in white for free on 24-month contracts starting at £20 per month -- that'll get you 250 minutes, 5000 texts and 500MB. The £20 price point about matches the prices the major networks are asking for the black version -- T-Mobile UK's contract prices for the Motoluxe start at £21 per month.

As we discovered during our CES hands-on, the Motoluxe is a decent, if unremarkable entry-level handset, and you could certainly do worse if you're shopping around for a free phone on a £20 per month tariff. We've got Moto's full press release after the break.

Motorola Motoluxe launching in Hungary this month

Android Central

Hot on the heels of the Motoluxe announcement for Poland comes word from Motorola that the Motoluxe will be available in Hungary this month, too.  This mid-range device lacks the dust and water resistance of the DEFY MINI, but it does have a larger display at 4" and slightly heftier battery.  We saw it at CES, and came away with a reasonably positive impression of what Motorola has done here.  Yeah, it's another Gingerbread phone, but what are you gonna do.  Gingerbread is still good enough, and Motorola has put Motoblur on top of this to improve ease of use.  It'll be available on T-Mobile Hungary in April for 79 900 HUF.

Motorola Motoluxe launches in Scandanavia

Motorola Motoluxe

Motorola this morning announced the launch of the Motoluxe Android smartphone in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. As you'll recall from our first look at CES, the Motoluxe has a 4-inch display and Android 2.3, with an 8-megapixel rear camera and Motorola's Social Graph feature and widgets that you'll not find on another phone.

Motorola Motoluxe launches in the UK, T-Mobile gets it first

Motorola's quirky mid-range phone, the Motoluxe, has today gone on sale in the UK. Various onlie and brick-and-mortar retailers are now selling the 'luxe for just over £200 (~$320) without a contract, while T-Mobile UK is offering it for free on all its 2-year contracts, which start at £21 per month.

Under the hood, the Motoluxe contains what we'd generously describe as mid-range hardware. There's an 800MHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, a 4-inch WVGA screen and an 8MP camera. On the software side, you get Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Motorola's latest Motoswitch UI. Those kinds of specs aren't going to wow anyone in 2012, but if you're after an affordable entry-level Android phone, the Motoluxe may be worth a look.

For our first impressions of the Motoluxe, check out our hands-on feature from CES back in January.
