O2 UK reportedly rolling out DC-HSPA in 'major cities'

AppId is over the quota

Android Central

British mobile operator O2 has begun rolling out a new, faster mobile network standard across major British cities, according to reports. Crave? is reporting that O2 has started switching on DC-HSPA. The "DC" part stands for dual cell, and this new standard doubles the bandwidth available over traditional HSPA+, enabling maximum theoretical download speeds of up to 42Mbps. For the less technically minded, it just means faster 3G data, assuming your phone's hardware supports it.

And that's the big sticking point at this stage. Right now there are only three leading devices that support DC-HSPA -- the HTC One X, the new iPad and the Nokia Lumia 900. In any case, if you're rocking a One X on O2 in a major British city (no word on which ones), then you'll likely be treated to faster data speeds from now on.

Rival UK networks are looking to roll out DC-HSPA later this year, ahead of the expected UK LTE switch-on in 2013 and beyond. Three says it'll start upgrading its network with the new standard "this summer," while T-Mobile and Orange (under the "Everything Everywhere" banner) are reportedly aiming for the end of the year. Vodafone tells ?Crave it already uses DC-HSPA on its network, albeit at slower speeds of up to 28Mbps.

HTC One roadshow coming to 'dozens of cities' around the world

HTC One roadshow

Over the past year, HTC has taken to the road to promote its products across Europe. And for its latest series of smartphones, it's taking things to the next level, launching a worldwide tour to allow fans to go hands-on with its new HTC One line-up.

In a post on its official blog, the manufacturer reveals that it plans to visit "dozens of cities" across the globe, including the major cities you see in the image above. If last year's roadshows are any indication, this year's tour should be a great opportunity for regular people (as opposed to snooty press types like ourselves) to get an early look at the One X, One S and maybe even the One V. No specific dates are mentioned, but according to today's blog post, the tour is planned for "the next several weeks."

HTC's also asking fans to suggest more destinations to add to its line-up, so if you're not anywhere near the nine cities that've already been announced, there's still time make yourself heard.

Google offer extends to 4 new cities, with 11 new partners

Google Offers

Google has extended its service Google offers with 4 new cities and 11 new partners, bringing the total to deal 30 partners in 40 cities. Austin, Houston, Philadelphia and Miami, users can now get daily deals more through the Android application or through their Inbox, and partner sites will have exposure even more now that they have themselves aligned with the big g.

New deal partners seek to expand things with offers for almost everyone.  8Moms, APDailyDeals, AT & T Interactive, &, DailyDeals.com, DoubleTakeDeals, half off-deposit, offers of Morgan, Savored, signpost and urban Dealight are the latest additions and should offer a varied mixture to suit almost every taste.

I know that many of us are in agreement observers. I spend more time and money that I must seek the, and no day in downtown DC trip is complete without seeing what I can save while out and about. Now we all have partners even more hastily in our daily emails. And the Cajun experience dinner seems delicious artery-cloggingly.
