Samsung SCH-i200 'Jasper' spotted wearing Verizon branding
Those looking for a a Samsung equivalent to the Droid Incredible 4G LTE may soon be in luck -- the image above has surfaced via the @evleaks Twitter account, along with a purported list of specifications. Supposedly the device in the image is the Samsung "Jasper" (likely a codename), a phone with the product number SCH-i200. Inside it's said to be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, with a WVGA screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the new Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX. As you'll be able to tell from the branding on the back, it's a Verizon 4G LTE device.
Design-wise, it's definitely channeling some of the Galaxy S III, and it shares its curvaceous chassis and other design cues with Samsung's current flagship. The button setup is also of interest -- as we've seen on some LG phones, "Jasper" sports four capacitive keys, including a dedicated multitasking key.
There's no complete spec list available just yet, nor is there any info on pricing or availability, but we'll keep you posted as further details of this mid-range beast emerge.

Shared data plans: Who saves you more money, Verizon or AT&T?
Unless you're using more than two phones, AT&T's new shared data plans won't really save you money over Verizon's.
AT&T is launching shared data plans in August. Verizon has them now. The premises are similar -- one plan, multiple phones sharing from a bucket of data. (Voice and texts are all unlimited and "free.") You'll have to pay for each phone that's a part of the shared plan, though.
How do they break down? Which one's more likely to save you money? Let's take a look.

Building AOSP Jelly Bean for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus - a tutorial [from the forums]
We've seen the source code for Android 4.1.1 (affectionately known as Jelly Bean) drop from Google, and plenty of us were excited to see the Verizon Galaxy Nexus binaries were back online and available. Whether you're a Verizon subscriber or not, as an Android fan it's OK to get warm and fuzzy inside seeing more devices opened up for users. Nice work to all involved for getting the licensing worked out once again.
But seeing it there is only the first step. For many of us, half the fun of having a phone like the LTE GNex is building code and hacking the living crap out of it. If this sounds like you, there's a special treat waiting in the Verizon Galaxy Nexus forums -- the best damn AOSP building tutorial you'll ever see. I've written a few how-tos in my time, so I can say, with no remorse, that you won't find a more thorough, easier to understand, well-thought tutorial anywhere. Dmmarck is not just an AC forums moderator, he's a total nerd, and not afraid to let it shine. He walks you through setting up your machine, from the ground up, and in the end you'll have the satisfaction of flashing a build of Jelly Bean that you made yourself. It's the pinnacle for any Android geek with a Verizon Galaxy Nexus. The icing on this cake? Dylan is there, in the forums, all day every day, to answer your questions and walk you through when you get stuck. When doing this sort of thing for the first time, that's the key.
If you've got the hankering to do some Android building for your LTE GNex, and looking for a great place to start, you've found it. Hit the link, and be sure to give dmmarck a big thanks for his hard work!

Droid Incredible 4G LTE available from Verizon Wireless today
Whether you have been waiting for the Droid Incredible 4G LTE ever since we first went hands on back at CTIA, or the recent teases are what have whet your appetite, it is finally available.
