Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD trailer emerges, could release be approaching?

Huawei announced the MediaPad 10 FHD all the way back at February at Mobile World Congress. That feels like an age away, but it seems that the 10.1 inch tablet may be due to release sooner rather than later. The above promotional video has shown up on Huawei's YouTube channel today, and it looks the marketing guys have done a great job with a flashy promo video for Huawei's flagship tab.

The metallic MediaPad 10 FHD will come packing a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, LTE support (on some models), 16GB of storage and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It's 10.1 inch HD IPS display (1920 x 1200 pixels), and as we mentioned in our MWC hands-on, it's a fantastic-looking panel. An 8MP camera is also onboard partnered with a dual LED flash, along with a lower-res front-facer.

Huawei certainly isn't short on high-end Android devices at the moment. With the Ascend P1 now available, the and Asecnd D Quad just around the corner, the company will be hoping its new MediaPad will be able to compete alongside the likes of ASUS's Transformer Pad Infinity. CyanogenMod 9 RC2 emerges with new devices, stability improvements

As it rapidly approaches a final, stable release, CyanogenMod 9 has reached the second release candidate milestone, or RC2. CM9, based upon Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, supports dozens of devices, and the latest release candidate adds support for several high-profile Samsung phones and tablets --

In addition, CyanogenMod lead Steve Kondik says the new release includes bug fixes and new translations, and stabilizes CM into "a product that you’d let your mom use." As for the full, final, stable version of CM9, Steve says should be "just around the corner." Once CM9's out the door, work on the next version, based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, should begin in earnest.

UK Motorola RAZR MAXX pre-order price emerges

The Motorola RAZR MAXX is coming to the UK and Europe, without the battery-guzzling LTE radios of the Verizon version, but complete with the gianormous 3300mAh battery. Today British retailer Clove Technology give us the first indication of when we'll be able to get hold of the RAZR MAXX in the UK, and how much cash we'll be expected to part with.

Clove expects to stock the RAZR MAXX from mid-May, and lists a pre-order price of £359 (~$570) without VAT, or £430.80 including VAT. So it's clear that if you want the privilege of getting multiple days' usage on a single charge, you'll be expected to pay a significant premium over the the original GSM RAZR. That device currently sells for around £380 including VAT off-contract.

Pricing concerns aside, we're interested to see how long a plain old GSM/HSPA device on the MAXX's substantial battery pack. If anyone's interested in importing it into the US, the GSM RAZR MAXX's specs indicate it supports HSPA on 850 and 1900MHz, meaning it'll work on AT&T's 3G and "4G" network.
