LG showing off the Viper on Wednesday in New York, promises some good parenting lessons

Hold onto your hats, folks. If the prospect of a T-Mobile HTC One S event on Wednesday night isn't enough to get your excited (never mind the prospect of a biker-chic Carly), LG's just dropped an invite to its own shindig in New York City. This one will have the Sprint LG Viper on hand.

Oh, and model/actress/Miss USA 1996 will be there, too to discuss ways parents can use LG Viper to transform bad tech habits that interfere with quality family time. And so will we. Stay tuned for any news Wednesday night out of the Big Apple.

LG Viper available for preorder today for $99, officially in stores April 22

As promised, the Sprint LG Viper 4G LTE is available for preorder today for $99. (That's on a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.) In exchange for that Benjamin you'll get a 4-inch NOVA display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 5MP camera, NFC radio and Sprint ID, plus eventual 4G LTE data on Sprint's fledgling 4G LTE network. Plus, you'll get 50GB of online storage from Box.

Sprint's website says it'll "do our best to get it to you before Sunday, April 22," which suggests that'll be the official in-store date. So, who's in?

Update: Sprint's just made it official, saying it'll definitely be in stores on Sunday, and that preorders may arrive as early as April 20.

LG Viper may be available in Sprint locations starting April 22

Sprint has already announced that the LG Viper pre-orders will begin tomorrow, but what they managed to leave out was the actual date it would arrive in stores. The only information given was that it would be later this month, but the folks at Engadget received a tip today that puts it in store on April 22. This date could make sense being as it would be 10 days after the start of the pre-order, and it falls on a Sunday which is a common day for new phones to enter the market. While this is still unofficial at this point, we can cross our fingers that it is the day, and Sprint will make it official soon as well.
