Motorola Droid RAZR now available in blue in select stores, online May 17

Motorola Droid RAZR

Verizon this morning officially announced that a blue version of the Motorola Droid RAZR is available in select stores and will be sold online starting May 17. As we noted when we broke the news on Sunday, it's the same RAZR we've come to know and love (and wonder why it's still being sold when the MAXX exists), and it's still running Gingerbread.

Galaxy S III to be sold at glass Samsung Pin pop-up stores

Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy S III superphone, the latest in Samsung’s line of flagship devices. The Galaxy S III will go on sale worldwide starting in May, and apart from the traditional retail and cellular outlets, Samsung has introduced another way to get your hands on the device: glass Pin pop-up stores that will be featured throughout London and (hopefully) elsewhere.

These pop-up stores will serve as showcases for the Galaxy S III, and you will presumably be able to purchase the device either unlocked or with carrier contract from these locations. Don’t expect Samsung to go ahead and open their own retail locations anytime soon, however, as these are temporary storefronts to coincide with the launch of their next flagship device. We’re not convinced that a standalone Samsung store is the best way to push Samsung’s products, though they certainly have enough devices to fill one.

If you’re in the UK, look for these stores to come to your location a bit later this month, likely focused around the London area. Those of us outside of the UK may have to wait a bit longer, if we’re to see these stores in our country at all.

What do you think? Like the idea of a Samsung standalone store for the Galaxy S III line?

LG Viper available for preorder today for $99, officially in stores April 22

LG Viper

As promised, the Sprint LG Viper 4G LTE is available for preorder today for $99. (That's on a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.) In exchange for that Benjamin you'll get a 4-inch NOVA display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 5MP camera, NFC radio and Sprint ID, plus eventual 4G LTE data on Sprint's fledgling 4G LTE network. Plus, you'll get 50GB of online storage from Box.

Sprint's website says it'll "do our best to get it to you before Sunday, April 22," which suggests that'll be the official in-store date. So, who's in?

Update: Sprint's just made it official, saying it'll definitely be in stores on Sunday, and that preorders may arrive as early as April 20.

T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G now available online and in stores

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, the latest Android device to find a home on T-Mobile's "4G" network, is now available online and in stores. For $149 on contract, you'll get 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 480x800 resolution, a dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor clocked at 1.5 Ghz, and both a front and rear-facing camera, all while surfing on HSPA+ speeds of up to 42 Mbps.

We didn't really love it or hate it, largely because of the now-outdated Gingerbread under its hood, but if you're in the market for an affordable device with specs that are difficult to sneeze at, the Blaze 4G might be right up your alley. You can grab yours now through T-Mobile at the source link.

Samsung Galaxy S II now available on US Cellular, arrives in stores tomorrow

Galaxy S II

As we predicted last week, the Galaxy S II will arrive in US Cellular stores tomorrow, March 1, with online availability beginning today. The award winning smartphone will cost you $229.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a two year contract (you'll get another $100 off if you're a new customer), and will surf on the carrier's 3G network rather than its soon-to-launch LTE wavelengths.

It's the same Galaxy S II you've grown to love, complete with a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2 Ghz dual-core Exynos processor, and 16 GB internal storage. It's shipping with Gingerbread, and US Cellular hasn't made its Android 4.0-update plans clear as of yet, though we're hoping they'll keep on top of it.

Those of you who've been patiently waiting can grab yours today at the source link, or sit tight and head into a US Cellular retail location tomorrow.
